1. Newt, Friendly and is confident in Thomas, our protagonist and is second in command.

2. Newt is British with long blonde hair, friendly toward people. He knows what to do in times of trouble, and is ready to take charge, and is the gladers go to guy for things later on in the book. Newt is the kind of guy who is light-hearted and can have jokes ready when need be. He also does not like people disobeying the rules.

3. Like Newt I am friendly toward people even if they are jerks. If need be I can take charge in situations where people need a leader. Plus in times of trouble I know what to do and how to solve the problem. Like Newt I don't entirely like it when people break the rules.

4. Newt he’s the gladers go to guy

When he fights he will make grievers fly

He’s ready to take charge

Even if the task is large

He can be the joker type of guy

This piece of artwork is poetry in the form of a limerick. This consist of 5 anapaestic lines where most of the time its humorous. Lines 1 2 and 5 have seven to ten syllables and all rhyme with each other. Where as lines three and four don’t rhyme with 1,2 and 5 but rhyme with each other and have five to seven syllables. I choose this form because of the possible choices given I felt like I could do the best with literature. This relates to me and my character because as previously stated Newt can have a joke ready which a limerick can be funny so it would suit him well. Also we know what to do in times of toil and trouble and can lead and direct people, plus sometimes I am the go to guy with my friends.

Frypan

Richard:

1) Frypan was first said to be ill-tempered. When Frypan meets Thomas, they become friends. For the rest of the story, Frypan defends Thomas at meetings and gatherings.

2) Frypan is pretty hairy. He has a beard. He is ill-tempered, but he can be nice and loyal. To most people of the glade community, he is just the cook.

3) Frypan has some characteristics similar to mine. I can be grumpy or ill-tempered. I also like to cook things (but I don't like cooking anything too "fancy" or hard to make).

Here we have a picture of Frypan. Frypan is seen holding a frying pan, which is probably where his name came from. He has some facial hair. Being the cook of Glade, he must prepare something that can be cooked fairly quickly and easily, which is what he is most likely making in the picture. Both him and I love cooking. One thing I do find odd about him is that he has a beard. You might think that because he has a beard, he wouldn't be cooking because hairs might get in the food.

Gally

1. Gally and Thomas did not get along right when Thomas first gets to the Glade. Gally claims that he has seen Thomas before and that he was posing as a threat to Gally and his fellow Gladers.

2. Gally is about 15-16 years old, he has blonde hair and is tall. Gally has all the characteristics of a villain on the outside.

3. Gally and I don't really have much in common, but I can pick out one thing that makes us similar. Gally has a lot of traits that he does not really show on the outside but he shows these traits indirectly. When Thomas first got to the glade Gally had doubt and saw Thomas as a threat. If Gally didn't care about his friends he would not have pointed out Thomas. That is what I don't some times I care for people indirectly.

4. I picked the song "Mad World" by Gary Jules
This song represents Gally in all the ways possible. this song has a slow beat for Gally's sneakiness, and the song talks about people running a race that has no end and people going crazy. The song reflects me because of the slow beat because of how chill i am about things that go on around me. This song reflects Gally more than me. Chuck

John:

Chuck was the Greenie before Thomas came to the Glade and is assigned to show Thomas around on his day. Slowly, Thomas begins to think of him like a little brother.

Chuck is around 12 years old with brown hair and a round face that has a mischievous light. He’s a good natured boy that is smart-alecky, and cynical for his age. He has accepted his lot in life being in the Maze.

My picture shows Chuck and Thomas scaring someone in the bathroom. It shows how Chuck keeps his spirits up and has some fun. Most of the Gladers just do their work and nothing else but Chuck wants something else to do.

Minho

1. Thomas saved Minho’s life. Therefore, Minho has great respect for Thomas and backs him up when he is in trouble. Overall, Minho and Thomas are good friends.

2. “An Asian kid with strong arms and short, black hair” are the words used to describe Minho. That shows he is physically strong. Minho is both mentally strong and weak. When he was first trapped in the maze, he had a “give-up and die” mentality. However, later, he was the one who was determined to find a way out of the maze using Thomas’ knowledge. Minho’s mental strength is the main reason the Gladers escaped the maze. Socially, Minho takes orders from no one. He is the keeper of the runners, and he has a lot of power in the Glade. In the end of the book, Minho is one of the physically, mentally, and socially strongest characters.

3. Minho is my favorite character in the book. There are several ways in which Minho and I are similar. First of all, we are both male, and we are both teenagers. Secondly, Minho is extremely fit and strong, just as I strive to be. He runs in the maze, and I do a lot of running when I practice and play soccer. Thirdly, Minho has an extreme wit, and I believe I possess that trait as well. Next, Minho is very smart, and after Thomas showed him his move to avoid a griever, Minho devised a strategy in which both he and Thomas would survive the night in the maze. I feel I am smart as well. I do very well academically, and I have developed projects that have received state-wide recognition and awards. Another way in which Minho and I are similar is that we are both true friends. Minho always helps Thomas because Thomas saved his life. This shows Minho’s loyalty to his friend, and I feel I am a loyal friend as well. Last, but certainly not least, Minho has his own opinion. He doesn’t care what people think of him or how he talks to others. This is shown when he talks to Alby (the leader) in a way nobody else does. Minho doesn’t care that Alby is the leader. I have my own opinions, too, and I am not easily swayed by others. I do what I feel is right, regardless of what others think or do.

4. The picture below is of a book bag. I drew this picture because Minho and I both carry book bags. A book bag is the most important things a student (such as me) and a runner (such as Minho) can have. Throughout the day, I carry all of my school work, books, and lunch in my book bag. This is similar for Minho. Although not often talked about, the book does mention that runners must have book bags, and I infer the reasoning is that all of their supplies for work, as well as their food, are held there. If Minho or I did have a book bag, we would be lost. We could not successfully function in our environments without the book bag and its contents.
